What subjects are on the HESI exam?

The HESI A2© consists of eight separate test areas, covering mathematics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, biology, chemistry, anatomy & physiology, and physics. The specific test areas required may vary depending on the school you are applying to.

TEAS:

The TEAS test, also known as the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS V), is a standardized admissions test used by many nursing schools to evaluate potential candidates for admission. Developed by ATI, the TEAS V assesses a nursing candidate's skills in reading, math, science, English, and language usage.

MCAT:

The Medical College Admission Test® (MCAT®) is a standardized, multiple-choice, computer-based test that has been a part of the medical school admissions process for over 90 years. This exam is required by nearly all medical schools in the United States and several in Canada. The MCAT measures examinees' skills and knowledge that have been identified as key prerequisites for success in medical school and practicing medicine. The content is divided into four sections: Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems, Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems, Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior, and Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills.

PCAT:

The Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) is designed to assess the skills and abilities needed to succeed in pharmacy school. Currently, the majority of AACP institutions require the PCAT for admission to pharmacy degree programs.

GED:

The GED Test, or General Educational Development Test, consists of four tests that measure proficiency in standard high-school subjects. It is intended for individuals aged 16 or older who are not enrolled in high school. Rather than testing specific facts or terms, the GED Test evaluates applied knowledge and skills related to specific situations. Passing the GED Test grants a high-school equivalency diploma.
